Mono Lake: Day

And here are some daytime photos from my recent trip to Mono Lake.

During the day we had really interesting and fun lectures, presented by several night photographers: Andy Frazer, Steve Harper, Tom Paiva, Stu Jenks, Jill Waterman, Dan Squires, Al Hiltz, Joe Reifer, Gabriel Biderman and Troy Paiva.

In additional to that we spent mornings at Tioga pass (the pass was closed because of avalanche risk so we drove up as far as we could and then walked; check out how much snow there is mid-June!), June Lake (really fun place, we hiked up the rocks and found some spectacular views over the lake and mountains) and around the small town of Lee Vining (first place I've had such great food at a gas station, delicious morning coffee at Latte Da's and Mono Cone, of course).

Most mornings I'd get up very early because of jetlag (who knew 3 hours will make such a difference!?), so I walked around Lee Vining. One morning I came across these old cars. Don't you just love them? I took the photo for my older brother knowing he'll like them. Oh, I wish I could go on another trip right now!
