Boathouse in spring

MIT boathouse, seen on Memorial Drive.

I went out to re-photograph this scene in spring. I had taken this photo of the boathouse in winter, with lots of snow on a very foggy night. I love how the tree that in the winter photo resembles a broom, now looks completely different with the new leaves. The light above the door is off, and on the glass there is a reflection from the streetlights behind me. You could play "find 10 differences"!

Star trails

This past weekend I was in Rockport again. A cold night, however with more people and activity in the otherwise deserted beach town this time of the year. It's certainly become one of my favorite places to photograph at night.

Here is my first real attempt of star trails. It was an hour long exposure. I had set my camera in the middle of a field, aimed the camera towards sky trying to visualize how the star trails would look as they move around the North Star - and voilà! Ways to improve but I'm happy with the first results.
