One of the days before heading out to Bodie we visited the nearby Dechambeau Ranch. It was active during roughly the same time period as Bodie and provided food for gold mining communities in the area. The 320-acre ranch contains the original buildings, which have been stabilized, some of the original barbed wire, ditches, roadways, fence lines, and wells. Nowadays, it's just as ghost-like as Bodie.
